Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution process, where you and your spouse can meet with an independent third party (Mediator) to discuss and work out an agreement such as a separation agreement or dispute between you.  The Mediator does not render decisions, but will guide you through a process where you will explore options and make decision that will resolve your dispute.  A guided mediation will help you resolve all issues relating to the breakdown of your relationship, based on the legislation surrounding family law, and culminating in a separation agreement.    Mediation to obtain a separation agreement avoids the litigious environment of proceeding through courts and can ultimately save clients’ money.

Irvine Law in detail

1

Working directly with Loreen Irvine

As a client of Irvine Law you will establish a direct working relationship with Loreen Irvine. You will not be working through assistants and do not have to worry about a new lawyer being assigned to the case.

2

Limited Number of clients

By being able to limit the number of clients we represent Irvine Law is able to devote more valuable time in service to the clients we represent.

3

New Clients

Many of Irvine Law clients are referred by former clients as well as clients of opposing lawyers. We also see referrals by larger firms that have a conflict in client interests or from lawyers who do not specialize in family law.

4

No minimum billing

Unlike many large family law firms Irvine Law does not have a minimum billing policy

Our Fees.

In most cases, fees are based on an hourly rate, which means that the total cost of your matter will depend on the amount of work needed to be done, including whether or not you are proceeding through the court. When you decide to retain me, you will be asked to deposit a retainer, which will be held in a trust account and billed against on a monthly basis. You will be required to pay back in the amount billed each month so that you are maintaining the initial balance in your retainer at all times. This allows you to budget accordingly and not to be surprised by large bills months down the road. I believe that transparency and clear billing is important for my business in addition to keeping client’s costs down as much as possible. Keeping lines of communication open is essential to my business relationship with my clients, so I will often answer brief questions and respond to emails and the occasional text message without additional charges.
